I have made a special card for a very special boy who is 4!! He wanted an “army” card, sounded easy enough until I thought, I don’t have any stamps with guns, tanks or missiles lol. So instead I made him an army camouflage card.
Firstly, I took a piece of whisper white cardstock (long enough and wide enough to use the letters to spell his name) and covered the entire piece in crumb cake ink until there was no white showing. I dragged, dabbed and smeared the paper to give it a more random look. I then stamped ‘old olive’, ‘always artichoke’ and finally ‘soft suede’, each time going to a darker shade in order to give depth to the camouflage. I stamped the colours using the Painter’s Palette stamp set and mixed it up using different stamps in the set. You can just play around with them and see what you like. After it had dried I cut it out using the large letter framelits and adhered them to the card. Finally to finish off I add a strip of the camouflage to the top of the card and a roughly cut piece to the bottom to resemble mountain terrain.
the inside of the card I did a camouflage patch and stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Hope you have fun trying this technique, all products used in making this card are listed below.
